Ferns play Korea

The Foot­ball Ferns kick off their In­ter­na­tional Tri Se­ries cam­paign against DPR Korea this Sun­day at Bill McKin­lay Park at 7.30pm. The com­pe­ti­tion will also fea­ture the Aus­tralians who, like the North Kore­ans, are ranked in the top 10 in the world. ‘‘Be­ing at home is some­thing that’s al­ways spe­cial for us. It’s go­ing to be a re­ally spe­cial week and they’ll be three games of top qual­ity foot­ball that we hope peo­ple will en­joy,’’ coach Tony Read­ings says. Aus­tralia will take on DPR Korea on Fe­bru­ary 10 in the sec­ond game of the tour­na­ment. The Ferns will be back in ac­tion on Fe­bru­ary 12 when they take on the Aus­tralians to wrap up the tour­na­ment. It will be the last time the Foot­ball Ferns play on home soil be­fore they be­gin their prepa­ra­tions for the World Cup in Canada in June.
