Central Leader - - NEWS -

Halls 3 and 4 at the Showgrounds will be transformed into a lively market place with nearly 200 specialist stalls offering traditional New Year foods, arts and crafts, deer products, herbal medicines, toys and videos from the Far East plus a huge variety of other products and services.

There will be an exhibition of cars from BMW and MINI, demonstrations of Chinese calligraphy, brush painting, kite making, paper cutting and the chance to win two return trips to Hong Kong / China / Taiwan courtesy of Cathay Pacific.

Another popular attraction is the chance to sample many different exotic and traditional Asian delicacies from over 50 outdoor hot food stalls. These delicacies come from China and many different parts of Asia where ethnic Chinese had previously settled before emigrating to New Zealand.

You can try Cantonese, Shanghai, Sichuan, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Singaporian, Malaysian and Japanese flavours and for the less adventurous even European mainstream goodies as well as specialised vegetarian food.

To quench your thirst, there will be a wide range of drinks available including coffee, fresh fruit juices, novelty ice creams, bubble tea drinks and smoothies.

Astonishing: You haven’t seen anything like the skill levels of this year’s performers.
