Con­ver­sa­tion part­ners needed, want to do some­thing mean­ing­ful for some­one in your com­mu­nity? Do you have an hour a week to share? Learn skills and then come along­side some­one with com­mu­ni­ca­tion dif­fi­cul­ties af­ter a stroke, to help them gain con­fi­dence and feel part of their com­mu­nity again. This is a very ful­fill­ing role for a vol­un­teer. Train­ing and sup­port is pro­vided by speech–lan­guage ther­a­pists and vol­un­teer co-or­di­na­tors through an ini­tial two-day train­ing ses­sion (in late May), on­go­ing sup­port and an­nual get-to­geth­ers and train­ing.
