Facts about breast can­cer in New Zealand 1. More than 3000 women a year are di­ag­nosed with the dis­ease – that’s eight women a day 2. Most of th­ese women have no fam­ily his­tory of breast can­cer 3. Around 350 women in the pre-screen­ing age group of 20 to 44 will be di­ag­nosed with it in 2015 4. More than 600 women will die of the dis­ease this year – that’s the size of a large pri­mary school.
