An orange construction fence marks the start of Sainsbury Rd Park’s long-awaited transformation. The park will be closed for two months. The Albert-Eden local board last year consulted with the community over design options for the redevelopment of the northern section of the site. Board member Graeme Easte says the chosen design includes a new playground, concrete paths, seats and picnic tables. Auckland Transport will also be improving the road connection into the park. Stage two will focus on the park’s southern side and will be done when funding becomes available.
