Affordable hearing gets better
Is hearing loss stopping you from doing the things you love in life and having an effect on your self confidence?
Despite being a common problem, especially as we grow older, many sufferers delay seeking help, according to audiologist Shirley-Anne Hodgson.
Shirley-Anne has recently joined A1 Hearing, which has clinics in Papatoetoe and North Shore and is now opening in Dominion Rd.
Shirley-Anne, a fully qualified audiologist with more than 30 years’ experience, has a Masters in Audiology.
She ran her own clinic in Orakei for 11 years before deciding to move away from the business world so that she can concentrate on what she enjoys most; helping people to hear better.
She is able to provide ACC, War Pensions and Hearing Aid Subsidy services.
Shirley-Anne says: ‘‘In my over 30 years working as an audiologist I have been privileged to be part of this rapidly advancing field. The last few years in particular has heralded a new era in hearing care, with a huge advance in the application of digital technology for people who suffer hearing loss. The benefit of these discreet yet powerful hearing aids is that they enable people to hear more clearly without distortion, annoying background noise or the uncomfortable high pitched squealing associated with past hearing aid technology.’’
A1 Hearing is a family-owned audiology practice which has been operating for 15 years.
The new Dominion Rd clinic which opens in August continues its philosophy of providing locals with an affordable solution to their hearing problems.
With prices starting from just $650 hearing aids are not as expensive as many might think.
There have been several new lines of budget-priced hearing aid technology released which have features and benefits previously only available in the mid-range prices.
A1 Hearing is pleased to be able to offer some of these new hearing aids to patients at an affordable price.
If you’ve noticed your hearing diminishing, Shirley-Anne advises that the earlier you have it checked the better, even if you think the problem is minor.
A1 Hearing Dominion Rd is currently offering a free one-hour comprehensive hearing test until the end of December.
