Police are on the hunt for a group who allegedly robbed an Auckland liquor store, leaving the store manager with head injuries.

Liquor Legends in Three Kings has been robbed three times in the past month.

The latest incident took place shortly after 9pm on Saturday.

Store owner Jeff Wu says one staff member was hit in the head with a wooden stake.

‘‘He got a few smashes at the back of the head,’’ he says.

‘‘The back of his head opened up.’’ Wu says another staff member received injuries to their knee and left eye.

Both received hospital treatment and are now at home recovering.

Wu says the offenders managed to turn off the Duke St store’s security cameras before robbing the store.

‘‘You can only see the first five seconds of the robbery.’’

He plans to do a stocktake later this week to figure out what was stolen.

A police spokesperson says two other aggravated robberies occurred on July 20 and 23.

As part of their investigation, police are looking to establish whether the incidents are linked, the spokesperson says.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police or to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
