If you’re keen to do some hiking this summer, Rangitoto Island is just a 25minute ferry ride away. Grab a refreshing drink on board the ferry and sit back. It takes about an hour to get to the look out point at the top of Rangitoto. Don’t forget to take your time to explore the caves on your way up.

Go fishing

You can choose from a few fishing charters who will happily take you to the best spots. If you want to stay stationary without getting on a boat, you can still enjoy the harbour while wharf fishing. A popular spot for wharf fishing is just off Tamaki Drive, opposite Kelly Tarltons. Auckland Jet Boat tours are for those seeking some adrenaline this summer. The 35 minute adventure tour ride is sure to get your heart pumping. Full length spray jackets are included, but make sure you wear something that you don’t mind getting wet in.

Auckland Bridge Climb and bungy jump

This is the ultimate adrenaline adventure out at Auckland harbour. If you’re looking to cool off from the summer heat, ask the crew how you can jump and make a splash. If you want to take the view in slowly, a bridge climb is also available for those not wanting to jump.
