Get off the couch and exercise

Central Leader - - OUT & ABOUT - ELESHA EDMONDS

Stephanie Taylor was swamped. The doctor and mother of three juggled a chaotic lifestyle. Being busy was always her excuse for being overweight and exercising irregularly.

Until the 42-year-old, her husband James and their three daughters signed up for the Ports of Auckland Round the Bays fun run in March.

Fairfax organised for the Kohimarama family to team up with personal trainers Marcus Steward and Mike Rickard from Bodi Transformations.

And it had an impact - Stephanie and James both lost around 8kgs each during the seven weeks. When race day came they breezed through the 8.4km course - even Lucy, 4, managed to walk.

This year we are looking for another family, workplace or group that want to take up the challenge of training for the eight weeks in the lead up to Ports of Auckland Round the Bays run on March 5, 2017. We will follow your progress and in turn arrange a personal trainer and free entry.

Tell us why you should be picked for the challenge by emailing RoundtheBays@fairfaxmedia. (make sure you include your suburb).
