A man pointed a gun in the face of a police officer during a foot chase in the early hours of Wednesday. Police said that around 12.55am, officers attempted to stop a car that was believed to be stolen, on Selwyn Street in Onehunga. The driver, believed to be 25 year-old

Hayden Rizvi, failed to stop and fled. The man drove the car to Three Kings, then stopped the car and ran away. A police officer chased the man but he suddenly stopped running and pointed a firearm at the officer’s face, police said. The offender then fled over a fence. The officer was not injured but was shaken.
