New research from Specsavers shows one in four Auckland children spend the hours equivalent of a full time job per week staring at screens. The research found that 25 per cent of children from Auckland are using laptops, smartphones, iPads as well as watching TV for more than five hours each day. This is significantly higher than the time Wellington (11.6 per cent) and Canterbury (10.5 per cent) children spend staring at screens. It warns that too much time spent in front of electronic devices can have a life-long impact.
