This joint is ‘‘qui­etly con­fi­dent’’ they make some of the nicest nicest drinks that you will taste. They cer­tainly make the pret­ti­est - a white rum con­coc­tion called Hawai­ian Time. It comes al­most mag­i­cally in a spher­i­cal glass that’s packed with ed­i­ble flow­ers.

Pimm’s at La Zeppa - Free­man’s Bay.

Pimm’s made the most iconic al­co­hol ad­verts of the 1980s and still makes the best cock­tail of sum­mer. Stuffed full of mint leaves and fresh fruit, mixed with gin­ger ale, this is perki­est Pimm’s in Auck­land.

Take MeWith You at Soul Bar & Bistro - the Viaduct.

If you think sum­mer should be spent on a yacht with leggy linen­clad, ladies - prefer­ably docked at St Tropez, Soul Bar & Bistro might be for you. They make hi­bis­cus liqueur for the Take MeWith You cock­tail, mix it with rose­mary-in­fused vodka, and serve it with a view.

Clas­sic Latino spe­cial­i­ties at Conch - Pon­sonby.

The most re­fresh­ing cock­tail clas­sics hail from South and Cen­tral America and they all get per­fected at Conch. Their cock­tail list is short and to the point, span­gled with sugar cane, cu­cum­ber, and cap­sicum.
