ART AROUND AUCKLAND

Art projects are popping up around Auckland. ‘Pop’, which is a series of interactive art projects that burst from galleries and theatres onto the streets, launched on April 1. Street corners, trains, nooks and crannies across Auckland will be filled with surprise artworks. The series was created by the awardwinning Alt Group, and was funded by Auckland Council and the Waitemata Local Board. Pop has been running for the past three years and this year the itinerary includes Newmarket, Takapuna, Onehunga, Mangere and New Lynn. Pop projects will be appearing until May 31.
