Nominations are open for the 27th annual Green Ribbon Awards. The awards recognise the outstanding work to protect and enhance the environment by individuals, communities and organisations. Parmjeet Parmar, National List MP based in Mt Roskill, said finalists would be invited to a special awards banquet night in Parliament. The 10 categories include biodiversity, resilience to climate change, wasteminimisation, caring for fresh water, coastal and ocean protection, leadership, philanthropy and partnerships, and the supreme winner category. There will also be an additional award for outstanding contributions to the protection of our unique flora and fauna, Parmar said. Go to greenribbonawards.org.nz for more information.
