CHINESE CENTRE

Central Leader - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

Auckland will have a Chinese Cultural Centre following the signing of an agreement between mayor Phil Goff and Chinese AmbassadorWang Lutong last month. Auckland was chosen as the location for New Zealand’s second Chinese Cultural Centre because of its cultural diversity, size, and the fact that it was home to 120,000 Chinese people - New Zealand’s largest Chinese community. New Zealand will be the first country to have two Chinese Cultural Centres. 2017 marks the 45th year of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and China, and Auckland’s new Chinese centre symbolises the strength of the relations between New Zealand and Auckland with China.
