The search for New Zealand’s top quality builds in this year’s Registered Master Builders 2017 House of the Year competition has begun. Judges will assess builds within three new categories that reflect the changing building and construction sector – two for Volume and Group House builders, and one for multi units, such as apartments. More than 370 homes will be assessed and regional award-winners will be announced at 10 regional events during July and August. Registered Master Builders Association’s David Kelly said the competition played a leading role in ensuring a better built New Zealand. He said the competition set a standard for the industry, and has become a valuable source of ideas for anyone thinking about building a new home or undertaking renovation. The first regional events are in Waikato and Mid and South Canterbury on July 14.
