Canada St Bridge is getting a refresh which will match it to the rest of Auckland’s newly brightened Lightpath cycleway. The magenta surface of the Lightpath was UV protected in March to help protect it from the elements and make its colour more vibrant. From June 9 the bridge will undergo resurfacing and the entire Lightpath will close with work expected to take nine days. All of the cycleway needs to be closed to ensure the new surface has time to seal properly. Cyclists and walkers are able to take alternative routes, those travelling southbound can use Pitt St, Mercury Lane and Queen St and northbound travellers can use Upper Queen St, K Rd and

Pitt St. People going to or from the waterfront can use the Grafton Gully.
