Big acts head­ing our way

A flurry of bands ap­pealling to all ages have an­nounced up­com­ing Auck­land shows.

Cana­dian pop­star The Weeknd will play one New Zealand show only, at Auck­land’s Spark Arena on Novem­ber 29. This is the first time The Weeknd has played New Zealand

The Weeknd, aka Abel Tes­faye, shot to fame in 2015 with hits like Can’t Feel My Face and cur­rently dates pop su­per­star Se­lena Gomez.

Tick­ets to the show go on sale at 3pm on June 30, but there is a pre­sale for Spark cus­tomers that runs from 12pm on June 26, un­til 12pm on June 28

Mean­while Lionel Richie fans have rea­son to cel­e­brate All Night Long with the news that the mul­ti­ple Grammy Award win­ner is headed our way.

The 67-year-old for­mer Com­modore, who has sold more than 100 mil­lion al­bums world­wide, has an­nounced that he will bring his All the Hits Tour to Christchurch’s Horn­cas­tle Arena on Oc­to­ber 19 and Auck­land’s Spark Arena on Oc­to­ber 21.

Sir Paul McCart­ney is also com­ing to New Zealand for a one-off show in Mt Smart Sta­dium, Auck­land on De­cem­ber 16 as part of his One on One tour.

Tick­ets to see the for­mer Bea­tle will be on sale at 1pm on July 4.

The Weeknd’s Abel Tes­faye is head­ing to New Zealand in Novem­ber.
