Big acts heading our way

A flurry of bands appealling to all ages have announced upcoming Auckland shows.

Canadian popstar The Weeknd will play one New Zealand show only, at Auckland’s Spark Arena on November 29. This is the first time The Weeknd has played New Zealand

The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, shot to fame in 2015 with hits like Can’t Feel My Face and currently dates pop superstar Selena Gomez.

Tickets to the show go on sale at 3pm on June 30, but there is a presale for Spark customers that runs from 12pm on June 26, until 12pm on June 28

Meanwhile Lionel Richie fans have reason to celebrate All Night Long with the news that the multiple Grammy Award winner is headed our way.

The 67-year-old former Commodore, who has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, has announced that he will bring his All the Hits Tour to Christchur­ch’s Horncastle Arena on October 19 and Auckland’s Spark Arena on October 21.

Sir Paul McCartney is also coming to New Zealand for a one-off show in Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland on December 16 as part of his One on One tour.

Tickets to see the former Beatle will be on sale at 1pm on July 4.
