Auck­land res­i­dent Harita Davies has be­come the first ever Kiwi woman to com­plete the Sri Chin­moy Self-Tran­scen­dence 3100 Mile Race, a 52 day, 5000km race, which started in New York on the June 18. Com­peti­tors had to main­tain an av­er­age of 96.5 kilo­me­tres a day for al­most eight weeks - more than two full marathons ev­ery day. Davis Harita av­er­aged 96.82km a day and fin­ished in 51 days, 12 hours and 48 min­utes. She fin­ished fourth over­all and was one of three women out of five com­peti­tors to reach the 52 day cut off time.
