Lunch with the girls

Central Otago Mirror - - CENTRAL -

IT was all about the ladies at Alexandra Primary School last week, when the school held a ‘‘Ladies’ Lunch’’ event for its Year 7 girls and their mums. Principal Adele Gott said the event was to celebrate the girls who had been part of the school’s trial of single sex classes this year. This term the girls focused on engaging with the community, and last week’s lunch was part of that, she said.

The girls invited their mums along, and other prominent women in the community were also invited to attend. The girls listened to professional speaker Amy Scott talk about the ‘‘Get Dotted’’ concept and effective communication, as well as sharing lunch with their mums. The Mirror’s EMMA DAWE was also invited along.
