Unique, memorable experience
Relive the elegance of bygone days and escape across Lake Wakatipu on the Real Journeys vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw for a unique and memorable preChristmas function.
Launched in 1912, the TSS Earnslaw is the oldest operating steamship in the southern hemisphere - a beautifully restored piece of living history.
A licensed bar and cafe´ on board make her perfectly suited for welcoming the festive season in style.
Pre-Christmas group bookings of more than 10 receive a complementary drink/cocktail/glass of bubbly on boarding and canape´ s during the 1 hour cruise. The resident pianist entertains on the Promenade deck where the chance to join in and sing along always proves a real hit with passengers of all ages.
Groups can choose a return cruise only or disembark at Walter Peak High Country Farm and continue their celebrations at the historic Colonel’s Homestead.
For a leisurely daytime function, a barbecue lunch is ideal. Sit back on the sun-drenched lakeside terrace as lunch sizzles on the grill.
Or, make the most of the long summer twilight with an evening cruise and a traditional carvery dinner in the dining room. Feast on succulent roast meats, seafood and garden-fresh vegetables, followed by a mouth watering range of homemade desserts before experiencing a slice of high country life with our sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstrations.
