Grateful patient

Central Otago Mirror - - CENTRAL NEWS -

Recently, I had the misfortune to get a bit close to the Heavenly door, but was lucky to instead arrive at the doors of Dunstan Hospital.

From the moment the St John ambulance arrived at my home, the team of professionals each took their place in helping me with my road to recovery.

That lovely new building on the side of the road that we take for granted is not to be taken lightly.

It hides so much talent – from dedicated radiologists, doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, office staff, cooks, kitchen staff and so many others. Each one plays such a huge part in the end result of healing the patients and making sure they have the utmost comfort.

I would like to thank each staff member who helped me during my stay and wish you all well in your careers.

The staff are raising funds at present for ‘‘Free to Air’’ for the patients’ comfort, in the form of a Christmas hamper, so please support these great people and the ‘‘Friends of Dunstan’’. This jewel of a hospital must be preserved.

Forever grateful
