Alexandra Pri­mary School pupils Tain Roberts, 7, left, Myah Turn­bull, 5, and Ethan Kerr, 7, get in some prac­tise ahead of the Uru­u­ruwhenua Schools’ Ka­pa­haka Fes­ti­val, be­ing held at Molyneux Park on Sun­day. Ten schools from through­out Cen­tral Otago will take part in the bi­en­nial event which is or­gan­ised by Cen­tral Otago REAP and fa­cil­i­tated by REAP’s itin­er­ant teacher of Maori in schools Mary-Anne Ta­mati. The event, which sees each school pre­sent­ing two items, along with a mass per­for­mance of andHe cel­e­brates the work the chil­dren have been learn­ing in school. The fes­ti­val will be held out­side at Molyneux Park, be­gin­ning at 1pm. Ev­ery­one is wel­come to at­tend.
