School will soon be out for Winter, so here’s hoping for at least a little sunshine to ensure the kid’s spend some part of their holiday outdoors.

The swimming pool is always a popular choice, with its heated pools, including spa and everyone’s favourite the hydro-slide and with pool sizes ranging for learners to advanced, there is bound to be something for everyone.

Indoorsy types are also certain to take pleasure in the likes of Miniature Golf, the Gondolas, Wanaka’s Puzzleworld and the movie theatre.

The library is another good place to spend a few hours, browsing the many books on offer, not to mention DVDs, computer games and music CDs which are available for hire.

Hire a myriad of video’s, dvd’s, computer, psp, playstation and x-box games from your local video store, another past timeideally suited to the colder days over the holiday period.

On the finer days kid’s who love the outdoors are a bit easier to please, with walking tracks, a trip on the Earnslaw, visits to the park and for the more adventurous perhaps a ride on a jet boat of choice.

For the real winter enthusiast Queenstown and Wanaka also offer skiing and snowboarding at Coronet Peak or the Remarkables and there is always a day on the luge to keep the young ones entertained.

For the little fishermen of the family, Central Otago offers a range of fine fishing spots on a good day in addition to some nice eateries, ensuring the family is fed and happy throughout the day.Whatever you choose to do with your children over these holiday’s, make sure you have fun and play it safe.
