Style, action, speed and grace: on the slopes and on the ice. The countdown has begun for the 2011 100% Pure New Zealand Games. If it’s winter sports you’re passionate about and you have a desire to experience sport mixed with entertainment during a global event, then the 100% Pure New Zealand Games are the event to have recorded firmly in your diary. Sixteen days, 38 events, 22 sports, 1,000 athletes, over 30 nations and an audience of millions – welcome to 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games. The world’s top snow and ice sports athletes from all corners of the globe will descend upon New Zealand’s Southern Alps and take on the best in ski racing to curling, snowboarding to skating as well as adaptive snow sports. And Wanaka will be showcased amidst this event with three of the seven venues being used for the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games from August 12-28 located nearby. Action in the 2011 Winter Games will take place on the snowy slopes of Cardrona, Snow Farm, and Snow Park, while further afield Coronet Peak, Mt Hutt, Naseby and Dunedin will also be host sites.
