Style, ac­tion, speed and grace: on the slopes and on the ice. The count­down has be­gun for the 2011 100% Pure New Zealand Games. If it’s win­ter sports you’re pas­sion­ate about and you have a de­sire to ex­pe­ri­ence sport mixed with en­ter­tain­ment dur­ing a global event, then the 100% Pure New Zealand Games are the event to have recorded firmly in your di­ary. Six­teen days, 38 events, 22 sports, 1,000 ath­letes, over 30 na­tions and an au­di­ence of mil­lions – wel­come to 100% Pure New Zealand Win­ter Games. The world’s top snow and ice sports ath­letes from all corners of the globe will de­scend upon New Zealand’s South­ern Alps and take on the best in ski rac­ing to curl­ing, snow­board­ing to skat­ing as well as adap­tive snow sports. And Wanaka will be show­cased amidst this event with three of the seven venues be­ing used for the 100% Pure New Zealand Win­ter Games from Au­gust 12-28 lo­cated nearby. Ac­tion in the 2011 Win­ter Games will take place on the snowy slopes of Cardrona, Snow Farm, and Snow Park, while fur­ther afield Coronet Peak, Mt Hutt, Naseby and Dunedin will also be host sites.
