Fundraising event scheduled for August 29
Cupcakes and animals seem to be an unlikely combination, but when it comes to a fundraising idea for the SPCA, it couldn’t be a sweeter partnership.
This year, the annual SPCA Cupcake day fundraising event is scheduled for Monday 29 August and is an event which will be celebrated across New Zealand.
This fundraiser is in its third years and has individuals, schools and community groups baking in support to help fundraise for this worthy agency.
With 100 per cent of the funds raised locally going to the Central Otago Branch of the SPCA, it’s comforting to know that all the work undertaken in the Community for Cupcake day will directly benefit animals and the SPCA’s services in the area.
The countdown is well underway for the annual SPCA CUPCAKE FUNDRAISING EVENT being held on Monday 29 August, and there is still ample time to register on line to support this major fundraising drive for the SPCA and to start planning for the cooking and creating of cupcakes
The aim of this unique fundraising appeal is to bake and sell cupcakes with the proceeds going back to the local SPCA. Anyone can participate in Cupcake Day; there is no age limit - Cupcake Day is for people from the age of 1 to 100!
There are currently four categories for those who want to register which need to be in by Sunday 28 August: - Individuals - for Cupcake Cooks who wish to bake and sell their cupcakes by themselves - Businesses - for companies who wish to take part in Cupcake Day organisationwide - Schools - for schools who wish to take
part in Cupcake Day - Teams - for groups or teams who wish to take part, e.g. you and your best friends, or your Year group from school, or your department at work. So. Fire up your oven, dust off the mixing bowl and whip up a batch of your scrummiest cupcakes ever.
Leave them plain or decorate them as you want. On the day, sell the cupcakes to anyone and everyone and forward the money to your local SPCA
