Scully ready for Tour of South­land

Te­viot Val­ley res­i­dent Het­tie Gunn cuts the rib­bon to of­fi­cially open the mon­u­ment, cre­ated by artist Bill Clarke, to mark 150 years of farm­ing in the Te­viot Val­ley, while her son-in-law and Te­viot Val­ley 2007 chair­man John Row­ley watches on. Al­most 200 peo­ple turned out on Mon­day morn­ing to be part of the launch of theOur

book, writ­ten by Dianne King, and which in­cluded sto­ries of 35 farm­ing fam­i­lies from the Te­viot Val­ley. Joan Michelle, whose late hus­band Alan was one of those who in­sti­gated the idea of the col­lec­tion of sto­ries, said she had spent the past few days read­ing the book. Just 1000 copies have been printed and were sell­ing well both at the Millers Flat School cel­e­bra­tions and at the launch.
