Scully ready for Tour of Southland
Cycling Southland’s Tom Scully, from Cromwell, in action at the ILT Velodrome in Invercargill last week.
Teviot Valley resident Hettie Gunn cuts the ribbon to officially open the monument, created by artist Bill Clarke, to mark 150 years of farming in the Teviot Valley, while her son-in-law and Teviot Valley 2007 chairman John Rowley watches on. Almost 200 people turned out on Monday morning to be part of the launch of theOur
book, written by Dianne King, and which included stories of 35 farming families from the Teviot Valley. Joan Michelle, whose late husband Alan was one of those who instigated the idea of the collection of stories, said she had spent the past few days reading the book. Just 1000 copies have been printed and were selling well both at the Millers Flat School celebrations and at the launch.
