Which stretch of water shall we head to today?

Southerners are spoilt for choice when it comes to activities in and around the water. Southland is a boaties paradise. For stunning lakes and fantastic scenery look no further than Manapouri, Te Anau, Queenstown, Wanaka and Cromwell for a day spent on the lake or at its edge relaxing with a picnic lunch or fishing rod in hand. Certainly there is nothing more relaxing than sitting in the shade of an umbrella watching the ebb and flow of the water and the range of activities taking place on or under the surface. Little ones enjoy paddling at the waters edge, whilst the older children prefer to get amongst it, swimming, kayaking or for the more adventurous; water skiing, tobogganing or wakeboarding. However you decide to spend your summer, when it comes to activities involving water, it is important to play it safe.
