Love is in the air ....

ove is in the air at the Golden Gate Lodge where the chefs have worked to create a Valentine’s Menu guaranteed to flame the sparks of love and melt the heart of the pickiest food critic.

Following on from the enormous success of last year, the path of romance at the Golden Gate Lodge restaurant starts with a platter for two of cured meats and cheese complimented by locally produced chutney, olives and crackers.

Next the menu presents a real challenge. Which to choose? Petite whitebait fritters on mesclun with a lemon and dill aioli or the thinly sliced venison stacked on cos lettuce and roasted red peppers finished with a balsamic reduction.

The candles are flickering seductively. The refreshments are sublime.

The company truly wonderful. Time for the main course, which of course is a win-win choice.

Beef fillet medallion wrapped in bacon then cooked to medium rare and served with a mustard cream sauce or is it to be the chicken breast stuffed with tangy feta and fresh herbs nestled on a bed of basil and braised crushed tomatoes.

As to be expected of such an occasion the mains are served with freshly prepared salad and gourmet potatoes.

To finish what will undoubtedly be your best ever Valentine’s Day is a shared platter of bight size treats. All this for just $90. As we said, the Golden Gate Lodge are suckers for love. But be sure to book as tables are limited.
