Avalanche City frontman David Baxter performs to a sold out crowd at the Classic Hits Winery Tour held at Olssen’s Vineyard in Bannockburn last week. More than 1800 concert goers, aged from under-5s to over 75s, went along to the concert to enjoy music from the New Zealand-based band as well as Kiwi music heavyweights The Mutton Birds and songstress Gin Wigmore. Rain earlier in the day cleared as the concert kicked off and the artists performed their hit songs to the well receiving crowd. Gin Wigmore proved to be the drawcard as most of the crowd got up from their deckchairs to dance to her energetic performance. The show was the 12th in the 17-stop national tour which will end in Auckland on March 3. Concert copromoter Campbell Smith said the event was a triumph and organisers were looking forward to returning to the spectacular venue next year.
