An A and P Show isn’t complete without a variety of entertainment available, and the Wanaka show is no exception.
Entertainment organiser Paul Tamati said the Wanaka show is renowned for its variety and this year they have a wide range of entertainment options which are not only suitable for all ages and all interests, but are immensely enjoyable.
On Friday the entertainment is centred on the Radio Wanaka Stage, before expanding across to include the Pembroke Stage and the Main Ring on the Saturday.
Mr Tamati said the segments of Live Music will feature performers from past ’Stars In Your Eyes’ events, with the aim of promoting local talent.
Of special interest will be the group from Vanuatu which will perform at midday on Friday on the Radio Wanaka stage.
"We are sure we have something for everyone to enjoy," he said.
Billy Black’s Kiwi Culture Show: All the way from Woodlyn Parks near the Waitomo Caves we present the Billy Black Kiwi Culture Show, a unique show not to be missed.
This performance will leave you in fits of laughter as you watch or participate in shearing a sheep or log sawing and see Jonah, the dancing pig. It’s one helluva show.
Jonathan Usher "Hocuspocus": Our extremely clever and entertaining magician returns again to baffle us with his magic tricks. This show is for both children and adults and comes highly recommended and is not to be missed!
Highly Inflammable Performers: Entertaining us from above will be our talented stilt walkers. You can also have your photo taken with them.
Alexandra Pipe Band: Once again we’re lucky to have the talented Alexandra Pipe Band leading our Grand Parade in the main ring.
The band can also be heard round the grounds playing their traditional Scottish Pipe Band music. They would also love to play your request .
Les Richardson Quartet: We are happy to host the Les Richardson Quartet on our new "Pembroke Stage" this year. Their jazz music will set a relaxing ambience while you take a coffee break or as you meander through the many and varied trade exhibits.
