Asking for voluntary donations from school pupils is common in schools throughout New Zealand. According to information gained under the Official Information Act by lobby group Family First, Kiwi parents are forking out about a quarter of a billion dollars a year in school donations. However, many parents and caregivers approached the media at the start of the school year saying the amounts were increasing and there was pressure to pay. What do you think?
