Lack of sleep did not deter the spirit of those in the Relay for Life in Cromwell at the weekend. The Chatto Creek Tavern Knitting Club team – Grace Robertson, left, Hilary Daughtry, Kevin Wood, Tracey Wood, Nikki Milne and Ralph Milne – joined 65 teams from as far as Maniototo and Glenorchy, who walked for 24 hours in support of people affected by cancer. Organiser Tammy Jackman said the event had been great and even at 3am everyone was up and walking around, having a good time. The relay ran from midnight on Saturday to noon on Sunday and raised more than $130,000 for Cancer Society services in Central Otago.
