Ngarea Riwhi, 12, of Alexandra Gymnastics Club, who placed first in the 12 to 14 years individual division, is on the move at the Mini Trampoline and Sport Aerobic Competition at Molyneux Stadium on Sunday. Alexandra Gymnastics Club head coach and event organiser Sally Hart said the meet, which attracted around 60 competitors from Invercargill, Balclutha and Alexandra, was the first to be held in Alexandra for ‘‘a very, very long time – at least 20 years’’. For the aerobics competitors, this was their first chance to qualify for the national championships, to be held in Dunedin this year. The sport has been on offer in Alexandra since last year and young enthusiast Ngarea, who has already competed at the nationals, said: ‘‘It keeps you fit and is a fun thing to do.’’
