Waitaki Girls High School - where or­di­nary girls get to do ex­tra­or­di­nary things. The mod­ern fa­cil­i­ties and pro­grammes es­tab­lished within the school en­hance achieve­ment both in­side and out­side the class­room. From a cur­ricu­lum which in­spires con­fi­dence, chal­lenge and the achieve­ment of per­sonal in­de­pen­dence through to the op­por­tu­nity to at­tain ex­cel­lence in all aca­demic, sport­ing, cul­tural and ser­vice ac­tiv­i­ties, there is a lot on of­fer at Waitaki Girls High School in Oa­maru. Firmly in place at Waitaki Girls High School is a phi­los­o­phy which fos­ters co­op­er­a­tion, cour­tesy and con­sid­er­a­tion. The staff at Waitaki Girls are also very proud of the se­cure en­vi­ron­ment which has been es­tab­lished in which ev­ery mem­ber of the school com­mu­nity ex­pe­ri­ences con­cern for the stu­dents wel­fare and em­brace tra­di­tions which have been de­vel­oped over time. Cur­rently there are over fifty clubs, sports and cocur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties to choose from which caters for many in­ter­ests and skills. For those who need it, this can be a home away from home, with board­ing fa­cil­i­ties avail­able which em­brace a fam­ily like at­mos­phere and through which friend­ships which stand the test of time and dis­tance are firmly es­tab­lished.
