And Wanaka is definitely a chief amongst destinations - a ’year round’ scenic place to visit or live - regardless which of the four seasons is currently being experienced. Wanaka, is in the heart of New Zealand’s southern lakes region, and is the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park, the West Coast, Central Otago, and the setting for many enjoyable activities across all four seasons. It’s a destination for snow and scenery, walks and wineries, aeronautics and adventure, and history and heritage. There is just so much to do and enjoy in Wanaka and the surrounding area all year round, but with Winter finally here Wanaka is a perfect hub for a winter holiday. It is a Winter paradise amidst an awe inspiring scenic winter wonderland and definitely a favourite destination for those passionate about their skiing and snowboarding which is available on several nearby slopes.
