TARTEN UP: Children from the Millers Flat School, from left, Mollie Hansen, Lola Dundass, Emily Perkins and Charlotte Abercrombie practise one of the easy Scottish reels in preparation for Scottish Week ceilidh, or family social night. “Even after two years of telling people about it, some are not sure what a ceilidh is,” Scottish Week committee member Trudi Marsh said. “With the help of two members from the Alexandra Scottish Country Dancing Group, we are teaching the children in the hope they will encourage their parents to bring them along to what will be a fun night of all things Scottish.” The ceilidh on Saturday is the first of many events across eight days to celebrate the Teviot Valley’s third annual Scottish Week. Tickets available from the Highland Pharmacy.
