Being happy in your own skin

Style and fashion is constantly changing.

Central Otago Mirror - - NEWS -

What was fashionable last week may not be this week but it’s how you feel about yourself that matters. Turning 50 is a huge milestone and one that should not be treated as any other day. Invigorate yourself, give yourself a new look and you will feel better for it. Do you ever look through old photos and think “I can’t believe I ever dressed like that!” or “I can’t believe how my hair looked!” Look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see? Are you happy with how you look? Feeling comfortable and feeling beautiful in your own skin is paramount. It doesn’t matter how you look to others, it’s all about you. It’s time to give yourself the ultimate spruce up, if you’re not happy with your clothes, your makeup or your overall style and appearance then get started on fixing those things. But always keep in the back of your mind that this is for you, not anyone else. If you’re happy with how you dress then why change to suit the current trend? The first step is to go through your wardrobe and pull out everything you haven’t worn in over 12 months. If you haven’t worn it then the chance of you wearing it again is very slim. Through this process you may even discover some hidden clothing treasures that were lost at the back of the cupboard. If you have kept clothing you wore over 20 years ago then there’s a good possibility you

would fit right in wearing it today. The positives of fashion today are that the decades are constantly revolving. Leather jackets, tights, boots, floral dresses and straw brim hats – everything is looking hot this year so make yourself beautiful. With the clothes you eliminated from your extravagant collection, take a trip to the Salvation Army or any clothing bin and give them to someone in need. You may not wear it or like it but it might be exactly what someone else is
