Woolon all set to roar

The gala event of the Alexan­dra Blos­som Fes­ti­val, The Mir­ror WoolOn, is set to be the big­gest in its eight-year his­tory. Event or­gan­iser Martin McPher­son said more than 60 gar­ments will be on dis­play, the largest amount of en­tries the fash­ion show has re­ceived. Cromwell de­signer Anne Lyon, Otago Polytech­nic de­sign school lec­turer Joan Leach, of Dunedin, and Clyde hair­dresser and Wear­able Arts de­signer Carolyn Laing are the panel that will judge this year’s event. Tick­ets to WoolOn, on Oc­to­ber 12 and 13, are sell­ing fast. In­ver­cargill band Lip­stick will pro­vide en­ter­tain­ment af­ter the Satur­day night show.
