Girls’ night out for a good cause

Want a free makeover? Want to learn some beauty tips? Want to help raise money for the Cromwell Early Learn­ing Cen­tre? If you said yes to any of those ques­tions then you had bet­ter buy your tick­ets for the ‘‘Girls Night Out’’ event to­day. The event, on Oc­to­ber 26, will in­clude a fash­ion and beauty work­shop, a pre-loved cloth­ing sale, and stalls by de­sign­ers Tam­sin Cooper, Claire Bloom and Anthea Lawrence. More FM ra­dio host and style ‘‘fash­ion­ista’’ Re­becca Flannery, Cromwell de­signer Anthea Lawrence and makeup artist Jess McDow­ell will be on hand to of­fer fash­ion, makeup and hair tips while guests sip on wine and cock­tails. Event or­gan­iser Hay­ley Stan­ley said ‘‘the fash­ion and beauty work­shop will have some­thing for ev­ery­one, from quick make-up tips to what’s hot in fash­ion for the up­com­ing sea­son. ‘‘There will also be the big re­veal of the lucky win­ner of the makeover,’’ she said. How­ever those want­ing to be in the draw for the makeover would need to buy tick­ets by to­day. Those who take part in the event should ‘‘pull out their glad rags, get dressed up and be ready for an evening of fash­ion and fun with the girls,’’ she said. Pho­tog­ra­pher Tim Hawkins will take glamour pho­tos, which will be able to be pur­chased as a me­mento of the night. Any­one will­ing to do­nate good qual­ity women’s and chil­dren’s clothes, ac­ces­sories and shoes could do so by drop­ping them at the learn­ing cen­tre.
