Central Otago Mirror - - SUMMER HOLIDAY GUIDE - By CHE BAKER

Rehearsals are well under way for what is expected to be the largest ever Stars in Their Eyes show in Alexandra. Alexandra Musical Society member and show director Sonia Taylor-van den Yssel said a total of 27 performances, including singers and dancers, would take to the stage in the show. ‘‘The lineup is absolutely mammoth,’’ Mrs Taylor-van den Yssel said. Many faces from past shows were returning for this year’s concert, but there would be several fresh faces as well who would be showing off their ‘‘secret talents’’, she said. ‘‘People can well and truly expect a great night out. We have everything from rock opera to the latest hits,’’ she said. Performers had been putting in a lot of preparation before Christmas, ‘‘the bones are all there, now it’s just the final tweaking’’, she said. Four shows will be held as part of this year’s event with opening night on January 23 and the grand finale on January 26. Tickets to the show go on sale next Wednesday.
