The stage is set and final rehearsals have been completed as opening night for the 2013 Stars in Their Eyes concert hits the stage tonight. Only those who were in quick were able to get their hands on the 480 tickets on offer for the four evening performances, 120 tickets each show, after they sold out in just 48 hours. Concert director Sonia Taylor-van den Yssel said it was fantastic. As soon as tickets went on sale it was apparent they would be snapped up quickly, she said. Twenty-seven acts, including singers and dancers, will take to the stage for the performance. Final rehearsals this week revealed how much the cast had come together for this year’s show, she said. Alexandra songstress Libby Hamilton, who was performing in the show for the third year, said ‘‘I love doing the show. It’s such hard case. ‘‘There’s a great vibe and energy among the group as the show comes together.’’ With tickets to the show selling so quickly it was possible more shows would be held next year, Mrs Taylor- van den Yssel said. However, finding a bigger venue would be a better alternative as it was already a timeconsuming commitment for the cast at this time of the year, she said.
