Playing in Roxburgh always ‘a pleasure’
The 2013 New Zealand National Youth Brass Band will be performing in Roxburgh tomorrow night as part of its ‘‘Going Places’’ tour. The band is made up of brass players from across the country under the age of 23. Guest artist Byron Newton will also be taking part in the performance playing Euphonium. Roxburgh Pioneer Generation Brass and Ascot Park Hotel Brass band member Daniel Dance, of Roxburgh, said: ‘‘I’m really looking forward to see the band perform here in Roxburgh. It is a great venue for brass with its friendly acoustics and other bands that have played here at competitions over the years also say it is a pleasure to play in this hall.’’ A wide variety of music would be played by the band and Mr Dance urged the public to attend the concert to ensure the band returned to Roxburgh to perform again. A bus from Alexandra would also be available from Central Motorways for $20.
