Play­ing in Roxburgh al­ways ‘a plea­sure’

The 2013 New Zealand Na­tional Youth Brass Band will be per­form­ing in Roxburgh to­mor­row night as part of its ‘‘Go­ing Places’’ tour. The band is made up of brass play­ers from across the coun­try un­der the age of 23. Guest artist By­ron New­ton will also be tak­ing part in the per­for­mance play­ing Eu­pho­nium. Roxburgh Pioneer Gen­er­a­tion Brass and As­cot Park Ho­tel Brass band mem­ber Daniel Dance, of Roxburgh, said: ‘‘I’m really look­ing for­ward to see the band per­form here in Roxburgh. It is a great venue for brass with its friendly acous­tics and other bands that have played here at com­pe­ti­tions over the years also say it is a plea­sure to play in this hall.’’ A wide va­ri­ety of mu­sic would be played by the band and Mr Dance urged the pub­lic to at­tend the con­cert to en­sure the band re­turned to Roxburgh to per­form again. A bus from Alexan­dra would also be avail­able from Cen­tral Mo­tor­ways for $20.
