Wedding whirl: Garth Williamson holds his new bride Monique in the air with his feet as the newlyweds perform a trapeze act after exchanging vows at their garden wedding in January. Sharing something unique with your new husband or wife is a special moment on a wedding day and for the couple, married at the Parsons’ property in Waikerikeri, that moment was performing a trapeze act for their first dance. Garth, originally from Alexandra but living in Wellington, said the couple started trapeze as a hobby and decided to perform it on their special day ‘‘because it was us’’. Monique, originally from Australia, said the pair had been taking part in double trapeze for about a year. ‘‘There is just something special about being in the air together and relying on your partner to catch up,’’ she said.
