Long tails, little tails, scruffy fringes or short hair, the hunt is on to find Clyde’s top dog. As part of the Clyde on Sunday markets this Sunday a Top Dog at Clyde competition will be held to find the best pooches in the town. Prizes will be given to the best small dog, best large dog, best behaved dog, best dressed dog and a special prize for the dog that looked most like its owner. Event organiser Marnie Kelly said often dogs shared traits with their owners so it was decided to give a prize to the most alike. Anyone wanting to take part in the competition needed to bring their dog on a leash to the area in front of the Clyde Cinema on Holloway St at 11.30am. The competition was being held to do something different and because there were a lot of dogs in Clyde that could do with some recognition, Mr Kelly said. Dog bowls, leashes and a special dog cake were some of the prizes up for grabs.
