Cen­tral Otago could be­come a same-sex mar­riage hotspot with ad­ver­tise­ments al­ready hit­ting the in­ter­net of­fer­ing gay-friendly wed­ding pack­ages. Log House Re­treat owner Marg Mathe­son said she was ap­proached by global web­site Pur­ple Unions to ad­ver­tise the re­treat, which of­fers a bou­tique wed­ding cer­e­mony for 80 peo­ple. The site helps gay cou­ples find wel­com­ing, friendly and sup­port­ive wed­ding ven­dors. Mrs Mathe­son, who dou­bled as a mar­riage and civil union cel­e­brant, said those get­ting mar­ried at the Log House Re­treat were able to in­clude var­i­ous pack­ages with their cer­e­mony and wed­ding night or hon­ey­moon ac­com­mo­da­tion.
