In Fe­bru­ary we re­ceived reac­cred­i­ta­tion for Baby Friendly Hos­pi­tal Ini­tia­tive, a World Health Or­gan­i­sa­tion ini­tia­tive that recog­nises that the Char­lotte Jean has in place the 10 steps to pro­tect, pro­mote, sup­port breast­feed­ing. The com­ments from the au­di­tors and their in­ter­views of re­cent clients just re­in­forc­ing what our fam­i­lies have been telling us about our knowl­edge­able and sup­port­ive staff to help fam­i­lies gain con­fi­dence with breast­feed­ing/feed­ing and par­ent­ing skills. The re­cent ren­o­va­tions to the birthing room have been much ap­pre­ci­ated, es­pe­cially the new birth pool for labour­ing com­fort or wa­ter­birth. ‘‘Su­per im­pressed with the new birthing suite and par­tic­u­larly loved the birth tub, it was wicked’’ was one of the com­ments we re­ceived in our Client Sat­is­fac­tion Sur­vey.
