A two-year survey of more than 6000 trees in Central Otago’s public parks and road reserved by an arborist has identified trees in the region which are in need of pruning, dead-wooding and removal. The survey was conducted by the Central Otago District Council to find the short- and long-term maintenance requirements of the trees. Council parks officer Geoff King said the survey identified some potential safety concerns and work would begin to address the issues during the winter months.
