Operational CT scanner
Otago Radiology medical imaging technologists Vivien Haig and Laetitia Robinson stand with the CT scanner which is operational at Dunstan Hospital. Local iwi blessed the $1 million device on Friday, a year after it was approved by the Southern District Health Board. About 1000 people a year were expected to use the scanner and would not have to travel to Invercargill or Dunedin for the service.
Environment week fun
Artist Nigel Wilson will create amasterpiece while the public watches at Central Otago Wastebusters on Friday as part of World Environment Week celebrations. Tours of the facility will also be happening. Other events this week include planting at Centennial Park tomorrow at 3pm, feature film Do The Math with Bill McKibben at 7.30 tomorrow and part 2 of Our Green Roadie at 12.15 on Friday.
