Jump: AJ Hackett Bungy receives a safety qualification in 1990 with Andy Brinsley, NZ Safety Official, AJ Hackett, Glen Russell (Pipeline operations manager), and Henry van Asch. The company marks 25 years in business soon with events, promotion and competitions between October 18 and November 12. As the official ‘‘World Home of Bungy’’ the historic Kawarau Bridge will be the focus of celebrations. Since 1988 more than 3million people have jumped at AJ Hackett sites around the world. Celebrity jumpers at New Zealand sites include Jack Black, Tiger Woods, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Billy Connolly, who famously jumped naked. The company will mark the actual birthday on November 12 with students and teachers from local schools completing their first bungy jump.
