Jump: AJ Hack­ett Bungy re­ceives a safety qual­i­fi­ca­tion in 1990 with Andy Brins­ley, NZ Safety Of­fi­cial, AJ Hack­ett, Glen Rus­sell (Pipe­line op­er­a­tions man­ager), and Henry van Asch. The com­pany marks 25 years in busi­ness soon with events, pro­mo­tion and com­pe­ti­tions be­tween Oc­to­ber 18 and Novem­ber 12. As the of­fi­cial ‘‘World Home of Bungy’’ the his­toric Kawa­rau Bridge will be the fo­cus of cel­e­bra­tions. Since 1988 more than 3mil­lion peo­ple have jumped at AJ Hack­ett sites around the world. Celebrity jumpers at New Zealand sites in­clude Jack Black, Tiger Woods, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Billy Con­nolly, who fa­mously jumped naked. The com­pany will mark the ac­tual birth­day on Novem­ber 12 with stu­dents and teach­ers from lo­cal schools com­plet­ing their first bungy jump.
